To us, the most important aspect of boarding our dog is the comfort we have knowing that Gibson is getting the best possible care while we are away. My husband and I are most blessed to have been referred to Homestead. The professionalism of the owners and staff and their obvious love of animals made it an easy choice of kennel. The playtime activities, making sure all medications are administered, if needed, and having a clean pet when picking him up are major pluses. We are also impressed by the cleanliness of the runs and the play yard. And the pictureswords are inadequate to express how special it is to get them. The only way to describe Gibson whether dropping him off or picking him up is that he is truly a "happy camper."

Homestead Kennels is a wonderful, safe place to leave your babies when you go away. I was referred to Homestead by my ex-husband's mother when I was in a crunch and needed to leave town for an unexpected business trip. They were very accommodating given the short notice.
Logan enjoyed him immensely and I know this because I received photos of him during playtime. No other boarding kennel has ever done that. And it was very apparent from the photos that the staff at Homestead spends quality time playing with your pet. Although Logan's very happy to see me when I come to pick him up I know he's had a good time at "camp" as we call it.
I travel quite often as my husband lives in CA and I'm here in AZ so I've relied on Homestead many times and will continue to do so. I highly recommend Homestead Kennels.

Where do I start..... From my first call to the Homestead Kennels, they treated me with lots of respect and gave my call lots of attention. I made a visit to their facility before I decided for sure if I wanted to board my beloved dog (Miles) there for two weeks. The cleanliness and the friendlinesses of the place sold me. While I was away, my mother was able to visit my dog and gave me nothing but good reports. Also, when I returned home I was sent an email full of pictures of them playing with my dog. I am a very satisfied customer and would recommend them to anyone. Miles now has a new home away from home when ever I leave town.
Thanks again guys!! You have a customer for life.

Homestead kennels were awesome. It was my first time ever using a kennel for my two black labs and Steve and Marcie made my feel totally comfortable!! They did an awesome job and they even took pictures for me of them playing, it was great! Homestead kennels is a very clean and well kept place. I know I can always rely on them for vacation time and so can Dolce and Gabbana!!

Wonderful experience! This is not your typical kennel! Nobody likes having to board their pets when they go on vacation, but Steve and Marcie go out of their way to make sure that your pets feel at home! The multitude of "playtime" pictures they've sent prove that our dogs were well taken care of! Never again will we worry about having to leave our dogs behind when we go away!

We've been using Homestead for over 10 years...both for our dearly departed Cocker and now our fiesty but absolutely perfect Westie. No one likes putting their dog in a kennel. But leaving them at Homestead is different. You can tell the folks love dogs and the dogs love them. Brodie gets excellent care and attention there. I can't imagine ever leaving him anywhere else. Thanks Homestead!

I have a 10 pound 18 year old dog, that I have to board quite frequently. Usually after she is boarded, she ignores me for a few hours b/c she's mad at me and isn't very playful...I boarded her for 4 days with Homestead, and when I picked her up she was wagging her tail and actually happy and played with me when we got home!! So I can only assume that she had a really good time! They even got her to take her medicine...which she usually would never take when she was boarded!! They also emailed me some pics of her while she was there! I definitely recommend this place...great place, great price, and great service!!

I never thought I would have to use boarding until I had to go out of town for an emergency and I called many places for both my dogs, and none of them seemed right except Homestead. They truly are great. It is like my dogs are at a home not a boarding. I would not take my dogs any other place.

They loved it.: I boarded my big shepherd and chow mix here for the fist time . My shepherd went willingly with Steve ( unheard of). and my chow mix never looked back. The facilities are great: good sized runs and huge grassy play yards with pools and toys. They had no problems with giving my shepherd his eye drops and when I picked them up they were not only clean and healthy but happy. They were pleased to see me but not frantic as they usually are. I will never board them anywhere else. if you want to board your best friend, worry free, this is the place. maxine

Homestead is simply the best: My wife and I recently move to the AZ about a year and a half ago from the east coast. Our first dealings we had with a dog boarding facility ( Almost Home) was a horrifying experience. After visiting the kennel we thought we were leaving our dog Keysha with a very well qualified care provider ( and we paid quit a bit for it as well.) To our dismay, when we called to check on our dog the owner said she had gotten into a fight during play time and a piece of her ear was bitten off. We Freaked out! When we picked her up she had a horrific glob of clotted blood on her ear and what appeared to be puncture marks on her face. The owner saw how upset we were but did nothing about it, not even apologize, ( we know dogs are dogs and not everyone gets along) but to neglect the wound and not take her to a vet and charge us an outrageous rate was more than we could take. Keysha recovered nicely needless to say.
This brings us to Steve and Marcie of Homestead Kennels. You can imagine how worried we were to leave our dog at another kennel. After searching the internet and reading countless reader reviews we came across Homestead. We called to get information and to see if we could schedule a tour of the facilities. Steve welcomed us to stop by any time. Once we got there Steve and Marcie greeted us as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. Steve spent over an hour showing us around the facility and explaining all the ??safety? features for the dogs, exercise areas, and the like. We expressed the concerns we had from our prior experience and they both assured us that each dog gets their own individual play time and attention, when the pup is tired of playing they go back in ?? it??s a very relaxed, family atmosphere. We called several times from vacation to check on Keysha and Steve gave us the rundown of how she was doing. When we picked her up she was full of energy, cleanly bathed and very happy. So much unlike the past experience. Michelle and I can??t say enough, this is a wonderful "home" not kennel, we highly recommend to anyone & everyone, Oh and the pictures are proof - she had a blast! Steve, Marcie, and their entire staff are the best, to quote Steve ???we don??t watch your dog, we watch your kids?? They are truly fantastic people, from the care they gave our dog to how they rescue strays and greyhounds. I only wish there was a rating higher than a five; in our book they are a ten.

Homestead is awesome!!: We have 3 dogs that we have put in the care of Steve & Marcie on multiple occasions ... the dogs love being at Homestead and Steve & Marcie treat each animal as though it is their own. We call being at Homestead "going to camp" for the animals as they have so much fun there. I have NEVER been concerned for the guys - they are cared for as well as if they were home with us.

Great Place to take your pet: we have a chocolate lab who is very insecure and scared about new surroundings. We we had to board him for a vacation we just took and found Homestead Kennels online. I'll I can say is that our dog, Junior, adjusted very well thank to Steve and Marcie. They were wonderful and took time with our dog before we even left him so that he would be more comfortable. We now feel we have a place we can leave our Junior and feel good about it.

Piece of Mind is Priceless: My husband and I are new to Arizona and we travel often. We have a lab and a rotty, and the most important decision for us is the kennel where we board them. Everything I read in the reviews proved to be the absolute truth. Marcie and Steve are amazing and they truly care about the animals. Every time I arrive one or both of them come out to the car to help unload or load up the dogs. They are fed just as requested, including treats and time of day. Pictures are taken of play time, and most importantly, when the dogs get picked up they are happy and healthy. The lab will pout if she is unhappy with a situation and she never has when I drop her off or pick her up. Marcie always has stories to share and I always have piece of mind knowing my dogs are well taken care of. The facility is extremely clean and so are the other dogs. I haven't heard of or read a review of a kennel that is better than Homestead.

Happy dog: My dog liked it so much she did not even miss me a week later when I picked her up. Good Service.

Homestead Kennels is A number 1: These people, Marcie & Steve, have a wonderful facility and wonderful interaction with every pet they serve. And the word serve = service.
They have been top-notch in every way.
Best recommendation I can make.

The very best!! Five stars for sure!!!: I have been bringing my German Shepherd here since I got him in Dec. Steve and Marcie, the owners, treat all the dogs as if they are family members. Mark, the trainer is great and all the dogs love him. Mark is firm, however he teaches both the owners and the dogs to respect each other, and my shepherd is very obedient because of Mark. The runs are big, the grassy lawns are huge for playtime, and most of all every area is spotless. When the weather is hot, the dogs get to play in swimming pools and are housed in
climate controlled areas.

Homestead: I've tried many different kennels in the area but Homestead by far is the best place I've found. My Rottie Cougar has a great time when he visits with our friends at Homestead as he has no illeffects when comes back home after his stay. The staff is super friendly and really care about the well being of Cougar. I highly recomend Homestead as you will have no worries!

Birdie loves this place: Great people. Birdie, my boxer loves to visit. She's happy and well groomed and fed when I pick her up. I always leave with complete confidence that Steve and Marcie will care for her just as I would. The best kennel I've ever used.

All bases covered!: Clean, air-conditioned, a large play area, etc. etc. Homestead has everything, which is great. We have 2 huskies that require a lot of exercise. They get a lot of running in during their play time, and pictures are emailed after each stay. We also opted for the training, and our fiesty little girl took to it. We have dropped in multiple times unannounced and on off-days, and have always found the conditions to be top notch. I guess the best review is the fact that our dogs wiggle their tails and start running for the door when we drop them off. We leave our dogs here whenever we need to and are always happy we do.

**WOW**: We have this dog named Oden that is 120 pound beast!! We got him in 2002 for our daughter for her first birthday. The pound told us that he was going to be a medium sized dog not more than 40 pounds. HAHAHA!! That was a joke. We tryed to potty train him, teach him to walk on a leash, sit and stay but we just ran out of energy. So he became a back yard dog. Now in 2006 we have 3 kids, 3 cats, a fish and a tea cup poodle all inside and Oden the beast out side. He digs, chews on every thing including the BBQ and pool equipment, jumps on every one as they walk into the back yard, knocks the kids over. Not to mention I still cant even walk him on a leash with out being me being draged 1/2 way down the block before my husband comes to save me. We just didnt have the time to go to traning classes every day with the dog or even once a week, and i just dont have the strength to get draged all over while trying to train the beast. So i looked on the internet for boarding and traning facilitys. We toured a few places and even though i didnt particularly like the dog, my daughter loves him and i just couldnt leave him in filth. Then we came to homestead... where Steve and Marci greeted us as we drove up, showed us their beautiful facility, explained all their services and introduced us to Mark, the trainer. This place is like the "ritz" for dogs! Beautiful green large play area, huge indoor out door AIR CONDITIONED dog runs... NICE!! We decided to leave him for 6 weeks, so he could be trained and i didnt have to worrie about doing any thing with him untill he was under controll. Our only worrie was that they were gonna call us in a week saying this dog is untrainable. We were just waiting for the call. We came to visit him after a week, when we got there Marci greeted us as we drove up, explained how he had been, and brought him out to the play area. He didnt even jump on us... he came running out and sat down next to my husband. We were shocked. The kids were even able to pet him with out being knocked over. We came back the next week got the same greeting and more info, Oden came out walking next to Marci, we all played with him, no jumping, getting knocked over, or chewed on. Every week we came to visit he was better and better. By the 4th week my husband went to do a traning session to see what Oden had learned. He came home and said Oden walked on a leash, sat, layed down, and stayed on command!! I was in total shock. The 6th week he came home a brand new dog!! He has been a house dog since. Oden is the most well behaved animal ever!!! All three of my kids play with him, even my 2 year old daughter .. he just lays down and lets her lay all over him. When he is walking about he is careful to walk around the kids, not knock them over. He dosent even mind the cats. It is absolutly amazing!!! I cant believe he is the same dog!! We went back to meet with Mark once since Oden has been home so I could ask some questions about how I shoud correct him in new situations and to make sure I was doing every thing right. There was no charge, we can go back as many times as we need to ( we wont need to Oden is perfect) for free. Homestead was so awsome!! They made it so our dog could actually be part of the family.

A Great Place To Stay When My Owners Are Away: Whether it's an overnight stay, or for a week or more I am perfectly happy going to see my friends at Homestead Kennels. They really care about all of us here and make us at "home" as much as possible. The owners always make sure I have all my shots and I'm free of any ticks or fleas. I like all my fellow boarders here but hey like me they are dogs and we all need attention. The owners let me run everyday in a huge fenced area so I get my exercise and when I get back with my masters I'm not all crazy. It is exciting to see that were going back to my usual stomping ground but I always kinda miss not being around my newfound dog buddies; we do alot of barking and talking. Sometimes I'll see some one I know from before; alot atimes their masters bring back when they have to leave town. You know the best part of staying here though is I get a nice warm bath before I head home. Hey I like everyone staying here but they are a buncha dogs!

Best In The Valley: Having to leave my 9 month old German Shepherd mix for the first time was very difficult for me. I thought I should bring her to a dog spa, or a nice indoor place where she would have her own room. I quickly became discouraged when I found that although they get a room of their own, they are locked in that room from 4pm until 6 or 7 in the am. Then I found Homestead, WOW. When I got there to take a tour, both Steve & Marcie came out to greet me as soon as I drove up. When I saw the facility, I was awed by the cleanliness. I made my choice. I was surprised to see when I came back w/Reese to leave her, both Marcie and Steve greeted in me in the driveway again. They both took some time w/Reese to get to know her so she could become more comfortable w/them, which she did right away. 1 week later, I just went to pick up my baby, she had a bath, & looked so happy. When I got home, I already had an email w/pictures they took of Reese playing in the yard w/their son. I would recommend this place to anyone. I am still so impressed & so happy there is at least one place in the valley good enough for my baby!

Best puppy "camp" in town!: I was incredibly nervous about dropping my puppy off at a kennel for the first time early this summer. My husband and I toured a dozen kennels across the valley and were by far, the most impressed with Homestead. It is VERY clean with no "kennel smell" and all of the dogs we saw on our tour seemed very happy! Steve and Marcie truly love what they do and it is clear in how they care for your "babies" when they are in the kennel! My dog literally jumps out of the car when we open the door at Homestead and he sees Steve and Marcie. He is tuckered out from all the playtime he gets when he returns home and most importantly, he is always happy and healthy when I return home! Trust me, from a VERY protective pet parent, this is a place you can feel good about! It is truly our puppy's home away from home!

The Best Kennel In Town!!: I have two medium size dogs, one of which is a pit bull mix who is sweet, but very hyper. Like many pet owners I know, I always am aprehensive when going out of town and leaving my dogs in the hands of another and feeling guilty that they will be in a kennel. I can honestly say that after finding Homestead I no longer have that anxiety. I never worry about leaving them. When I pull up Steve or Marcy greet me at my car, help me wtih the dogs, food, beds, etc. Marcy and Steve (the owners) are the best! They are onsite 24/7 feeding, playing, cleaning kennels, dogs, etc. The dogs love them and are actually excited when we arrive there. I just hope they don't get too busy because I don't want to have to take my dogs anywhere else!! The dogs get home and are actually exhausted from there playtime. They even send you pictures of the dogs playing during playtime in the yard (which is like 1/2 acre) to your email. I am extremely relieved to have found Homestead!

The best!: I used to take my girls to the vet to board when going out of town. But recently they were coming home stinky. I found Homestead on the net and decided to give them a try.
They are the best I have 2 pit bulls and nobody wanted to board them because of the breed or they wanted to charge me much extra.
Homestead had no problem! My girls are very friendly and outgoing they stayed in the same kennel together and got playtime in a huge green yard everyday for only $5 extra! They took pictures and emailrd them to me.
They took wonderful care of my girls I am very pleased with the whole set up the runs are indoor/outdoor with misters.
Thanks a bunch homestead!

Zeke Loves Camp its the best in 5 states: We moved here in 2004. After visiting all of the the keenels friends said to go to, you know the fancy posh type places we were lucky enought to find Homestead. More important than a great location--The owners take care of your dog and are on site 24/7. Steve and Marci care and let you and your dog know they care.
Zeke, my 95 lb, 5 yr old Bouvier loves going to "camp". When we get there, I open the car door and Zeke goes bounding after Steve--just to say hello. He gets groomed and or bathed the day I pick him up.
Simply put--Hoemstead is the best--if you want the best for your dog--Homestead is the only answer!

OUTSTANDING CLEAN IN/OUT KENNEL & GREAT PEOPLE: Let me start out by saying I was referred to Homestead Kennels by my vet. I figured if they refer me it should be ok right? Well it was better than ok!
I called and asked information about the kennel and thought it sounded really great over the phone so I decided to stop by and check it out in person.
I was super impressed with the facility and was amazed at how clean it was (I didn't tell them I was coming either) There was a fresh clean scent and no messes in any of the runs.
They have a misting system on the outside portion of the kennels and the inside was really nice and cool.
The runs are a huge length and are indoor and outdoor so my dogs didn't have to stay in a small area.
The rates are great & lower than any other I checked out and this Kennels was by far better than the $60 a night one I looked at & the owners here really love the dogs. They knew who I was picking up before I even said.
They also gave me the full run down on how my dogs did in the kennel.
The bonus that I like the best is they offer extra playtime out in this huge yard that even has play pools! It's only $5 bucks! And they get out 4 times a day and play till their pooped out! lol (they even took digital photos and printed a couple out for me)
All I can say is I LOVE the kennel and the owners and I have returned many times and have been thrilled every time! I also recommend my friends, family and co-workers and the ones that have been always come back and tell me "You were right" They love it as well.
Call them up you won't be disappointed!

Awesome facility!: I have been so pleased with my pets' experience at Homestead. They truly enjoy the indoor/outdoor aspect and aren't forced to stay in a small gage indoors with no room to roam. Their HUGE dog runs make for a much more comfortable stay for my dogs while I'm away. The new owners have made a lot of improvements including adding a misting system! Thanks Homestead!
